How to use umpire in a sentence?
The chair umpire was very incorrect in what he was telling me during the match, i dont know what this chair umpire has in specific against my team, but hes been complaining and telling me that my team talks all of the time when Im out on the court playing. Hes very I dont know. I believe hes not right, because I never hear anything of what my team says from the outside.
It's not very pleasant when you have the umpire give you warnings and time violations and coaching violations during a match. It can affect your thinking. It can affect your decision making, i don't know what this chair umpire has in specific against my team but he's been complaining and telling me that my team talks all of the time when I'm out on the court playing.
I think people have the misconception that it's going to be a robot behind the plate. ‘Lost in Space’ is one of my favorite shows. It’s not the robot from ‘Lost in Space’ back there, the umpire is going to have AirPods in, and the ball comes over… That basically tells them instantly if it's a ball or strike.
He called game. My opponent challenged once the umpire called game. I just thought that wasn't right.
Judges are like umpires, umpires don't make the rules, they apply them... They make sure everybody plays by the rules, but Supreme Court is Supreme Court. Nobody ever went to a ballgame to see the umpire.
