  1. style

Air is that combination of qualities which makes the entire impression we receive in a person's presence; as, we say he has the air of a scholar, or the air of a villain. Appearance refers more to the dress and other externals. We might say of a travel-soiled pedestrian, he has the appearance of a tramp, but the air of a gentleman. Expression and look especially refer to the face. Expression is oftenest applied to that which is habitual; as, he has a pleasant expression of countenance; look may be momentary; as, a look of dismay passed over his face. We may, however, speak of the look or looks as indicating all that we look at; as, he had the look of an adventurer; I did not like his looks. Bearing is rather a lofty word; as, he has a noble bearing; port is practically identical in meaning with bearing, but is more exclusively a literary word. Carriage, too, is generally used in a good sense; as, that lady has a good carriage. Mien is closely synonymous with air, but less often used in a bad sense. We say a rakish air rather than a rakish mien. Mien may be used to express some prevailing feeling; as, "an indignant mien." Demeanor goes beyond appearance, including conduct, behavior; as, a modest demeanor. Manner and style are, in large part at least, acquired. Compare BEHAVIOR.

How to use Style in a sentence?

  1. Susannah Maidment:

Although we have found dense internal structures that we have interpreted as nuclei in our cells, and the cells we found appear to preserve original components of blood, there is no evidence of any organelles or DNA within the nuclei, but even if one was to find some fragments of DNA, we would not be able to reconstruct a dinosaur 'Jurassic Park-style' because we would need the complete genome to figure out where the holes in the DNA are.

  2. Jessie Holeva:

Watches are the number one symbol of luxury, so for Apple to create a watch that fits both tech and luxury is brilliant, it is nice to see leather and metal wrist band options, which makes the watch less sporty and more glam.I love that there are so many different customizable metal options, and I especially fell for the rose gold. The different types of bands are great for those who prefer a more sleek style watch to those who want a more classic feel. Although I don't go for the sporty styles, it is similar to brands like Toy that make watches poolside-ready with a rubber band.

  3. Kirsten Dunst:

I mean, I was happy working with Jesse, we had a really nice time, and had a similar style.

  4. Lawrence Jacobs:

She’s soft-spoken. She would prefer to be in a room negotiating or talking with people than giving a political speech. That’s not really her style, she can do it, but it’s something that she’s had to learn.

  5. Diane Murray of Wood-Ridge:

I was thinking how embarrassed I would be to have her walk around in that costume, and she was embarrassed as well, dressing up as a sexpot is not part of my vision for a happy, healthy childhood. Outfits like that not only suggest a style of dress that is inappropriate but also emphasize the notion of dressing to titillate men, rather than dressing in clothes that make you feel good about yourself.
