How to use hockey game in a sentence?
Obviously I would have liked to win tonight, coming back to this building, loved our first 25 minutes. We competed hard, played hard, it was a 1-1 hockey game, and from that point on when they scored the second goal it just seemed like everything went the wrong way. We didn’t compete anymore, we didn’t have the hard work, and real disappointing the last 35 minutes.
It just shows that we have no quit. Even when we’re down a guy and pull the goalie and get one and get that extra point. It’s good for our team, obviously we make a few mistakes and if we don’t make those, I think we win the hockey game, so I think overall we still played a good game but some small details we’ve got to fix.
In all honesty, it was very anti-climactic for us to lose in a shootout, because it didn’t feel as if you lost a game, it almost felt like unfinished business. So going into this gold-medal game, regardless of who we play, we’re here to finish business and win a hockey game.
Players ultimately want to play, none of the players have to come us and said, ‘Hey, we should shut this down.’ If they feel that way, they haven’t expressed it to us. I think our players have been very positive in (saying), ‘Just tell us what we need to do and we’ll do it.’ Detroit Red Wings center Sam Gagner (89) tries to steal the puck from New Jersey Devils left wing Jimmy Vesey (16) during the third period of an NHL hockey game Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, in Detroit. It's going to be nice to sit back and just recover, when you're playing a hockey game where there's 100 hits, it's going to take a toll on you so you've got to just sit back, relax and get ready.
