How to use IMMUNE in a sentence?
Erik Millstone of Sussex University:
The public needs clear nutritional advice on how to eat to enhance their immune responses in the pandemic and people need to have the financial resources to obtain those foods, poor diet and poor health has undoubtedly contributed to the UK’s appalling COVID death rate, particularly among families on low incomes.
An' overreaction of the immune system' appears to be one of the ways natural Covid-19 infection leads to serious illness and death. There is the theoretical risk that vaccines might trigger that, but I am not aware of any data to date that support an actual role for vaccines in exacerbating the clinical illness, in fact, the trials showed that the vaccines, such as the JJ vaccine, are more effective against serious disease than mild disease.
As a pre-med student, I know that people who are older or people who have heart, lung or immune conditions are especially at risk for contracting the virus.
To get out of this debacle there is no alternative to having a significant majority of the population carrying a high level of neutralising antibodies. With today’s announcement that comes within our grasp, i suspect this will speed things by several months. An immune population by the spring starts to look feasible.
Can people be re-infected ? How long will they be immune if the antibody gives immunity ? Those are things that we're looking into.
