English Synonyms and Antonyms
ocean
Marine (Latin mare, sea) signifies belonging to the ocean, maritime, a secondary derivative from the same root, bordering on or connected with the ocean; as, marine products; marine animals; maritime nations; maritime laws. Nautical (Greek nautes, a sailor) denotes primarily anything connected with sailors, and hence with ships or navigation; naval (Latin navis, Greek naus, a ship) refers to the armed force of a nation on the sea, and, by extension, to similar forces on lakes and rivers; as, a naval force; a nautical almanac. Ocean, used adjectively, is applied to that which belongs to or is part of the ocean; oceanic may be used in the same sense, but is especially applied to that which borders on (or upon) or is connected with, or which is similar to or suggestive of an ocean; we speak of ocean currents, oceanic islands, or, perhaps, of an oceanic intellect.

How to use ocean in a sentence?
The landscapes in Taiwan are extremely diverse ... and cyclists get to see so many different sceneries (when biking Route No.1), from mountains to plains, ocean views and high mountains -- like Dayuling -- the views attract numerous adventurous cyclists to (take on the) challenge.
Survival from the world of the living And I see how people in the ocean, someone knows how to swim (survive), and someone uses a friend, relative, loved one or a loved one as a lifeline, that is, he drowns him so as not to drown and breathe air ...
Most planetary bodies consist of numerous pieces of rock that have coalesced under the influence of gravity. You could imagine them as sandcastles floating in space. Their structure can be disrupted when the force acting on the individual 'sand particle' is larger than their mutual gravity, similar to the ocean tides on Earth, which result from the gravitational pulls of the sun and the moon, in space a planetary body that comes close enough to a star is subjected to the strong gravitational pulls of that star.
We should be worried the way we have run down our submarine fleet. But with China bearing down on us, the way it is on the Himalayas, the South China Sea and now the Indian Ocean, we should be even more worried, fortunately, there are signs this government has woken up to the crisis.
I fully agree with the famous quote by Sir Isaac Newton, one of the genius scientists and a great philosopher: “I was like a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.” In my view, this quote and underlying thought process are the best examples of humility and modesty as much as the self-realization attained by a brilliant mind. When we think about our accomplishments, no matter how huge those are in quantity or how outstanding in quality, we realize and appreciate that the great ocean of truth still lays all undiscovered, yet awaiting millions and trillions of seekers like us, who are yet to arrive in next generations. Newton's thoughtful quote, that honest truth, certainly brings us back to reality, and down to earth, lest we forget.
