1. personal progress

   the term has been used when covering the olympics ( esp. most in the 1970’s as i recall). there is movie with this title but not relevant to personal progress that is often not given attention. rather attention goes to the top 3- esp the gold metal winner while winners of the silver metal may be lamented. the phrase can connote appreciation for anyone who surpasses themselves in some arduous endeavor.

1. Liu Hong:

   Today my goal was to clear all heights with the first attempt, what I managed, and saved energy for the final, i came to Beijing with the main goal -- a new PB (personal best). I feel super fit and confident. If my new PB would not be enough for a medal that would be devastating.
