However, I was technically not incorrect, since this was not specified in the question. Blunt has two meanings as an adjective: when talking about a person or statement "blunt" means "uncompromisingly forthright" which could be described in another manner as a "sharp" or "piercing" statement. However, when using the word "blunt" to describe a piece of metal or a knife, "blunt" means essentially the opposite -- "unsharp" or "dull".
