allenbury

allenbury

Allenbury Gardens (aka ABG) is a subsidized housing complex located in the Don Mills road and Sheppard Avenue East area, across the street from the north eastern section of Fairview Mall in the former municipality of North York in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This complex was built in 1969 and is made up of 127 social housing units in a rent-geared-to-income, low-rise form complete with surface parking lots and publicly accessible open spaces. The first tenants of Allenbury were mainly of Irish and European descent, but soon that gave way to a large number of West Indian families during the 1970's and 1980's. Famous musicians that came out of Allenbury include reggae artist Snow and up-and-coming rapper Alias Don Million. No stranger to violence and heavy police presence, Allenbury remains a tight knit community with strong family values. Allenbury Gardens makes up one section of an area in the north/eastern section of North York referred to as 4 Corners. In 2012, the TCHC submitted a proposal to redevelop its Allenbury Gardens property. The proposal calls for the demolition of the existing housing stock of 127 subsidized units and their subsequent reconstruction as part of a much intensified neighbourhood including an additional 979 condominium units. Like other TCHC redevelopments such as Regent Park and the soon to be rebuilt Alexandra Park, this project follows the mold set by the St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood by mixing housing sold at market value with subsidized units in the hope that the neighbourhood avoids the uniformity of income that can drain the area's vibrancy. five point generalz

five point generalz

The Five Point Generalz are a small tight-knit group of individuals with origins to Toronto's west end, particularly the Weston Road area. This gang was conceived by five original members nick named the 5 Generals (hence the name), but quickly gained numbers as they recruited other local thugs into their ranks. The 5PGz (as they are referred to) are a roaming territorial street gang whose members have adopted the tradition of sporting tattoos to show their affiliation rather than the wearing of colours like other local gangs. The 5PGz first gained notoriety after one of its members was implicated in the shooting death of 11-year-old Ephriam Brown who was caught between what police describe as a gun fight between two rivals(the two accused would later be acquitted of those charges). The 5PGz also made headlines when one of its members was killed while attending the funeral of an associate of the gang, who was also cut down by gunfire on Eglinton Ave. West. Although drug trafficking is their main source of income, the Five Point Generalz are more infamously known as trigger-happy stick-up artists for robbing would-be and established drug dealers alike, gaining them many enemies throughout the GTA. The 5PGz claim a stretch of Weston Road between Eglinton Ave. West north to Lawrence Ave. West in the Mount Dennis community as their turf. This includes 5 Bellevue Crescent and 1890 Weston Road (Mario's Brothers Restaurant) as well as 1946 Weston Road (The Central Bar and Grill). Members have also been known to frequent unit 2012 at 25 Martha Eaton Way, also referred to as "The Fort", putting them in direct conflict with established street gangs already inhabiting that area. Their main rivals would include the South Side Gatorz, the South Side Falstaff Crips, Trethewey Gangster Crips, Up-Top Driftwood Crips, Mount Olive Crips, the Humberline Rexdale Crips, Jungle City Goonz, Ardwick Blood Crew, Pelham Park Bloods and the VR Troopers gang. In May, 2010, Police made 71 arrests during pre-dawn raids in the GTA and Ottawa area as part of an investigation into two street gangs in northwest Toronto. "Project Corral", which began in August in response to a spike in violent crime, focused on rival gangs the Falstaff Crips and the Five Point Generalz. Police seized 19 firearms, $30,000 cash, $10,500 in casino cheques, more than 10,000 ecstasy pills, cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, hashish oil, diamonds, body armour and motor vehicles. The investigation also uncovered that a third international criminal organization with roots in Jamaica, the Shower Posse, help facilitate the criminal activities of the Falstaff Crips and the Five Point Generals by supplying them with narcotics and weapons. guilty crime posse

guilty crime posse

The Guilty Crime Posse are a long standing group of individuals hailing from the Flemingdon Park neighborhood of North York in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Although police maintain that the G.C.P is a criminal organization, as many of its members are alleged to be involved in an array of criminal activity, the G.C.P is mainly recognized as a recording company and music collective. This came about when the crew decided to turn part of their efforts on the streets, and profits, into production and rap. Members are all childhood friends who live under a tight code of honour, dependent on friendship and loyalty. They trust few -- and are especially suspicious of the police. The G.C.P were involved in a locally publicized beef with members of the Point Blank Souljahs during the early to mid 90's which not only resulted in back-and-forth diss tracks, but (police claim) also resulted in retaliatory shootings and killings as well. Members of the G.C.P are locally known to host such community events like the “Live at the BBQ” events hosted by Canadian hip hop pioneer DJ X. Members come from an array of backgrounds, although the core members tend to be Afro-Canadian. They have been known to be friendly towards Parma Court and Thorncliffe Park as well as members of the Bay Mills Crips. Their main rivals were the Point Blank Souljahs.

independent soldiers

independent soldiers

The Independent Soldiers began as a loosely affiliated group of drug dealers in the late 1990s involved in the manufacturing and distribution of marijuana and meth as well as the proliferation of cocaine and firearms. This gang emerged out of Vancouver's large Sikh community in southeast Vancouver and was once known as the "Sunset Boys" because members were mainly active around the Sunset Community Centre. In its early days of conception, the Independent Soldiers were considered rivals of the Hells Angels after one of its founding members was connected in the "Loft 6 shooting"and was shot in retaliation as a result. Afterwards, former leader Sukvinder Singh Dosanjh died in a car crash while his brother Gerpal Singh "Paul" Dosanjh died in a hail of gunfire in an East Vancouver restaurant in March 2004. The founding Sikh leadership of the gang were irradicated through a series of violent incidencesand lengthy court convictions leaving a void in the leadership which would later be filled with Caucassian males loyal to the Hells Angels; making the new Independent Soldiers one of the Angel's many "puppet club" gangs. They are currently active in Kelowna, Prince George and Abbotsford in British Columbia, and have members/associates in Calgary and Edmonton as well. Their main rivals are the United Nations gang as well as the Game Tight Soldiers but members have been known to be cliqued up with the Native based Redd Alert street gang from Alberta. The Independent Soldiers have also been linked with the Rizzuto Crime Family out of Montreal as well as the Asain based Fresh Off the Boat gang from Calgary. This gang is now active in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary.

main street mafia crips

The East Side (E/S) Main Street Mafia Crips are a long standing African-American street gang founded in East Los Angeles, California roughly during the early 1970's. This gang is made up of 3 individual sets who all fall under the Mafia Crips card. Territory claimed by the 98 Main Street Mafia Crips faction stretches from Colden Avenue in the north, 104th street to south, San Pedro/Wall street to the east and the 110 Freeway to the west. The 84 Main Street Mafia Crips are located around 84th Street and Main Street, between San Pedro and Broadway Blvd. Members have been known to sport yellow or gold articles of clothing along with the traditional blue color associated with the Crips. The Main Street Crips are rivals to all Neighbor Hood Crips, all factions of the East Coast Crips, 102 Raymond Avenue Crips, all Hard Time Hustler Crips, all East Side Hustler Crips, the 87 Gangster Crips and 97 Gangster Crips, Eight Tray Gangster Crips and the Broadway Gangster Crips. They used to have a close and tight-knit alliance with the Hoover Criminals until a shooting of a young member of the 94 Hoover Criminals Gang at a house party on Main Street Mafia Crips turf ended that relationship on a sour note. Now the Main Street Crips are considered rivals of all Hoover Criminals, specifically the 92 Hoover Criminals Gang and the 94 Hoover Criminals Gang. Blood rivals include the Family Swan Bloods, the LA Denver Lane Bloods, the Bounty Hunters Watts and all Compton Pirus. "Active" members of the Main Street Mafia Crips are friendly towards all gangs under the "Mafia Crips" banner such as the 99 Watts Mafia Crips, Fudge Town Mafia Crips and the Blue Gate Mafia Crips. Other allies include the Watts Franklin Square Crips, Avalon Gangster Crips as well as the Kitchen Crips. The territory of the 84 Main Street Crips used to be territory of the Mad Swan Bloods, but constant beef with the Hoover Criminals made The Swans retire that particular clique back in the late 1970's. In June 16, 2009, the Main Street Mafia Crips, along with the 73 Hustler Crips, the 73 Gangster Crips, the Mad Swan Bloods and Florencia 13, were included a gang injunction in an attempt to quell gang activity around Fremont High School, located on 76th Street and San Pedro Street. 84th Street Main Street Mafia Crips "Hit-up".

project originals

project originals

The West Side (W/S) Project Original Bloods (or P.O. Boys) are a predominately African-Canadian street gang founded around the early to mid 1980s by a group of young men from the Atkinson Co-op community who initially banded together as a means of self-protection from rival groups of youth from near by neighbourhoods as well as from those within Alexandra Park. At the time of its conception, there was heavy tension between new immigrants (West Indian, Latin American etc.) and the children of established immigrants (Polish, Italian, Greek etc.) in Alexandra Park which resulted in many violent clashes between the two classes. Tired of being accosted, the most vocal and influential young men of African-Canadians (Many of whom had roots in the traditionally black communities of North Preston, Nova Scotia) and West Indian or first generational Canadians (predominantly of Jamaican descent) brought together the local toughs and began protecting one another from swarmings. They would later call themselves the Project Originals (or P.O. Boys), and were regarded as inspiration for other disenfranchised ethnic youths within the neighbourhood. The 1980's saw the emergence of crack cocaine in downtown Toronto and by the early 1990's it had became an entrenched harsh reality within Alexandra Park, bringing with it drug-related and violent crimes. This turn of events provided the landscape for once feuding cliques drawn along cultural and racial lines to set aside personal differences for the sake of profitability, specifically within the local drug-trade. As their name began to circulate in local high schools and Authoritative circles, more young men from Alexandra Park began identifying themselves as a "P.O. Boy" and were eager to engage in the local drug trade; making community pride secondary to profit and personal gain. With many of its founding members deported, in hiding, dead, in federal prison or simply moved on in life, the P.O. Boys had evolved from a tight-knit group of individuals preaching community pride and self-reliance into a violent street gang driven by the lucrative drug trade in the downtown area of Toronto. Older members were routinely rounded up in politically motivated gang sweeps leaving a void in the local drug trade which would later be claimed by young, aspiring members of the P.O.B. By the mid 1990's, members of the P.O. Boys began to claim allegiance to the Bloods gang while other rival neighbourhoods began identifying themselves as 'Crips'. While most older members no longer live in the Vanauley Walk housing complex, police allege they still maintain control of the area by supplying younger members with narcotics and fire arms. Older members of the P.O. Boys are said to be major players in the crack/cocaine and gun trade in the downtown area, where as the younger members are known to be involved in break & entries, robberies, theft, fraud, extortion and shootings. The Project Originals are in their third generation of gang bangers and are considered a serious criminal threat by police. Traditionally, their enemies include street gangs from the Regent Park area such as the Point Blank Souljahs, Halal Gang and the Sick Thugz gang. Other rivals include the Parkdale Crips. They are friendly towards the Menace Gang, Asian Assassins and the Malvern Crew. The East Side (E/S) Blood Stone Pirus are an African American street gang founded in South Los Angeles, California. Also known as the Rollin 30s Pirus, this gang was founded in the early 1970's and have the distinction of being the only Piru set in South Los Angeles. Their territory stretches from Main street to the west and Hooper Avenue to the east, and from 30th to 41st street in the north and south (this area is referred to as the "Low-Bottoms" because of the low numeric numbers naming the streets). The name of this gang derives from a 1970’s R&B group called "Bloodstones". Despite the similarities in the name, the Blood Stone Pirus are not part of or connected to the Black P. Stones in Los Angeles, but are very tight with the Blood Stone Villains, the Rollin 20s Neighborhood Bloods and Outlaw 20s gang. Along with wearing the traditional red associated with the Bloods gang, this gang also dawns burgundy articles of clothing to show their affiliation under the Piru card. The Blood Stone Pirus are enemies of all Gangster Crips (particularly the 42 Gangster Crips, 43 Gangster Crips and the 48 Gangster Crips), the Rollin 40s Avalon Gangster Crips and 53 Avalon Gangster Crips, the 52 Broadway Gangster Crips and the Hispanic East Side Trece gang.
