license
In general terms, it may be said that freedom is absolute, liberty relative; freedom is the absence of restraint, liberty is primarily the removal or avoidance of restraint; in its broadest sense, it is the state of being exempt from the domination of others or from restricting circumstances. Freedom and liberty are constantly interchanged; the slave is set at liberty, or gains his freedom; but freedom is the nobler word. Independence is said of states or nations, freedom and liberty of individuals; the independence of the United States did not secure liberty or freedom to its slaves. Liberty keeps quite strictly to the thought of being clear of restraint or compulsion; freedom takes a wider range, applying to other oppressive influences; thus, we speak of freedom from annoyance or intrusion. License is, in its limited sense, a permission or privilege granted by adequate authority, a bounded liberty; in the wider sense, license is an ignoring and defiance of all that should restrain, and a reckless doing of all that individual caprice or passion may choose to do — a base and dangerous counterfeit of freedom. Compare ALLOW; PERMISSION.

How to use license in a sentence?
I'm dealing with a current participant now who is trying to get a barbershop license, but because he needs to take programming after being released, he can't go to school full-time, but I think ConConnect can solve that problem, as they offer easy and convenient access to programs, where now many people can take those classes online and save time, money and effort to engage in their education and professional development.

I know of several people who harvested (or attempted to harvest) more deer than they normally would this season to fill their freezer for the coming year, we’ve also likely seen some hunters who had not purchased a license in a few years get reactivated this year, but those are only two factors that went into the high harvest. All of the factors that hindered harvest in 2019 were nearly the exact opposite in 2020.
I see little public value in issuing a liquor license to Taco Bell and enormous costs for the residents of Madison and our city government, in the meantime, the violence at downtown locations associated with liquor is only growing -- growing in terms of frequency, in terms of location, and in terms of severity.

We'll see what comes out of that, and if the social license is not there, then there probably will be an increase in rail transportation, and the important part of that will be to ensure that rail safety is paramount.
