English Synonyms and Antonyms
damage
Abuse covers all unreasonable or improper use or treatment by word or act. A tenant does not abuse rented property by "reasonable wear," though that may damage the property and injure its sale; he may abuse it by needless defacement or neglect. It is possible to abuse a man without harming him, as when the criminal vituperates the judge; or to harm a man without abusing him, as when the witness tells the truth about the criminal. Defame, malign, rail at, revile, slander, vilify, and vituperate are used always in a bad sense. One may be justly reproached. To impose on or to victimize one is to injure him by abusing his confidence. To persecute one is to ill-treat him for opinion's sake, commonly for religious belief; to oppress is generally for political or pecuniary motives. "Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy," Deut. xxiv, 14. Misemploy, misuse, and pervert are commonly applied to objects rather than to persons. A dissolute youth misemploys his time, misuses his money and opportunities, harms his associates, perverts his talents, wrongs his parents, ruins himself, abuses every good gift of God.

We expect the damage will be significant in places already vulnerable to ocean plastic pollution, like Southeast Asia.
They know the seriousness of the situation and the possible consequences, and they don't want the media coverage to bring any kind of extra damage, later, as the situation gets worse, if the people are actually affected with their jobs, with prices ... that may become real anger, and if the media do anything to stir up that kind of anger it will cause some kind of very bad consequences.
There’s a lot of people who have conflicted interest where they’re supposed to protect Americans, but at the same time, they think they can do that by violating people’s rights constantly and recording data, especially with mass surveillance, i find this stuff to be so frustrating because while they can be sources of legitimate intelligence, there can be lots of collateral damage.
Russia and Saudi Arabia were in a battle royale to see who could damage the market the most.
There has been such an awakening of how racism, capitalism, colonialism, enslavement of people, has impacted our everyday lives and people are starting to see how problematic two people who have directly benefited from colonialism and the Empire, walking around, smiling and laughing, how that actually is not adding anything to these countries, there's absolutely no need for them. What do they represent ? What is the message that you're saying when you're sending people who have colonized, stolen from other countries, and you're sending representatives over there ? For what ? I don't understand what the purpose is of them unless it's to go and apologize, and to start talking about how you repair the damage.
